Nominated for Best Theatre Show in Cornwall 2016 (WOCAs)

THE MOUSEHOLE CAT
by Antonia Barber
adapted by Alan M Kent

Performed in Mousehole village from 17 December 2016 until 7 January 2017 to over 2000 people!
A magical puppet and live action production of Antonia Barber’s classic children’s story, The Mousehole Cat, was performed in the newly refurbished Solomon Browne Memorial Hall, Mousehole; the villages former pilchard works.
Following a sold-out Summer tour this re-imagined production was performed entirely in the round and featured a live acoustic soundtrack composed and played by local guitarist Scott Fleming.
Families had time to marvel at Mousehole’s spectacular lights display before taking their seats to hear how this West Cornwall village was saved from desperate famine by the brave actions of fisherman, Tom Bawcock, and his faithful cat, Mowzer. Based on a well-known Cornish legend Antonia Barber’s uniquely heart warming story of the friendship between a fearless fisherman and his devoted cat warmed the cockles of everyone's hearts almost as much as a ‘efty portion of stargazy pie!
The Mousehole Cat ran for three weeks until 7 January in the heart of Mousehole alongside the villages annual Christmas illuminations. This magical show lasted for approximately one hour allowing families to soak up the atmosphere of Cornwall’s most famous Christmas light display and enjoy a live performance all in one evening.
